Stacy was a hardworking single mother who did everything in her power to provide for her six-year-old son, Timmy. Even though money was always incredibly tight, she was completely devoted to making sure he never felt like he was missing out on a normal childhood.
For nearly two years, little Timmy had been dreaming of joining his local scouting group on their big annual camping trip. After weeks of secretly saving up every extra dollar she had, Stacy finally surprised him with the news, making incredible financial sacrifices just to see him smile.
When the day arrived, she put him on the camp bus, but almost immediately, a heavy feeling settled in her stomach. For the first few days, she couldn’t shake her deep maternal instincts telling her that something wasn’t quite right, even though he was miles away.
Then, on the sixth day of the trip, Timmy sent her a picture showing himself smiling proudly in front of his tent. At first glance, it looked like a perfectly innocent snapshot of a boy enjoying the great outdoors.
