A Home Worthy of the High Seas
Today, stepping aboard feels like entering a luxury yacht. The interior is unrecognizable from the dark, hollow shell it once was.
The main cabin is a masterpiece of efficiency and style. Thomas built custom cabinetry to fit the curved walls of the hull. The galley kitchen features a restored copper sink and a small wood stove that keeps the ship toasty on stormy nights. In the wheelhouse, which he converted into a reading nook, he sits surrounded by maps and compasses, watching the rain lash against the glass, safe and warm.

He even kept the original captain’s wheel, polished to perfection, as the centerpiece of his living room. “People think I’m stranded on land,” Thomas laughs. “But when I’m in here, I’m miles away from the rest of the world. I’m the master of my own horizon.”
An Inspiration to the Community
The same neighbors who once called it an eyesore now stop to take pictures of “The Landship.” At night, the soft glow of the portholes creates a magical scene against the dark field.
